Why Washington is the Perfect Summer Spot for Medical Travelers

May 22, 2019 | Allied Healthcare, Travel Nursing

The Pacific Northwest’s population is booming, and with great reason. Washington, in particular, boasts summer months with mild temperatures and loads of events to keep its residents (and visitors) happy and active.

Cities with plenty of medical travel demand right now such as Seattle and Everett can offer travel nurses and allied healthcare professionals ample opportunities to do the jobs they love while experiencing all Washington has to share.

Summer in Washington State

Washington has the perfect summer climate for those who don’t love the blazing heat. Temperatures in June and July tend to stay near the mid-70s, warm enough to take a trip to the lake, but not so unbearable that you can’t be outside longer than five minutes.

Speaking of lakes, Washington has nearly 2,500 miles of shoreline for people to enjoy. The Crazy Tourist compiled a list of Washington’s best lakes. Grab a kayak or a fishing pole to take advantage of the freshwater wonders of the state. If you haven’t quite earned your sea legs yet, there are plenty of hiking trails available in the area as well.

Spotlight Seattle

Washington’s largest city, Seattle has a multitude of events coming up this summer. Make sure to check out the Seattle Japanese Garden. Located in the Madison Park neighborhood, visitors are greeted with 3.5 acres of stones, water, lanterns, bridges, buildings, plants and animals. For a more theatrical experience, grab tickets to Wicked at the Paramount Theatre.

Spotlight Everett

Located about 30 miles north of Seattle, the city of Everett has a range of fun experiences for its residents and visitors to enjoy this summer. Throw it back to the turn of the century at the Backstreet Boys concert at Everett’s Angel of the Winds Arena. Everett’s Famers Market makes for a more low-key afternoon. Enjoy locally sourced fresh produce, sweet treats and live music every Sunday from May through October.
