A standard MLT travel assignment is 13 weeks. This time frame gives you an opportunity to learn the job, explore the city and make new friends. No matter the length of your allied healthcare travel assignment, if you’ve found a job (or city) you enjoy, you can always request an extension.
What are the requirements to travel as an MLT?
Healthcare traveler requirements vary by facility and state. As a best practice, be sure your licenses and certifications are up to date before you apply. You may need to obtain an additional license specific to the state in which you plan to work. And while not always required, Med Lab Techs with at least 2 years of on-the-job experience have better odds of getting placed.
